Meet Aly Thompson, LMFT

As a trauma-informed therapist, I believe healing happens when your story is seen, heard, and honored. I offer narrative therapy with a somatic and attachment-based lens—helping you reconnect with your body, find your voice, and begin your healing journey. Whether you're navigating trauma, spiritual abuse, chronic pain, or anxiety, you're not alone. I believe your story matters— and that joy, restoration of life, and wholeness get to be for you.

ALY BELIEVES

There Is Power In Storytelling Through…

Empathy

Trauma therapy rooted in empathy fosters connection and healing. When individuals feel heard and understood, they can begin to process and move through their experiences with greater emotional resilience.

Validation

Validating a trauma story is essential to the healing process. By acknowledging the impact of their experiences, individuals can reclaim their sense of self and restore dignity, empowering them on their journey toward healing.

Exploration

Through the exploration of personal trauma stories, individuals can experience profound transformation. This process supports emotional growth, recovery, and a deeper understanding and connection to one’s true self.

My Journey

I didn’t set out to become a therapist—I found this work through my own need for healing. After losing my voice (literally and metaphorically) during my time as a musical theater student, I began to experience panic attacks, insomnia, and emotional overwhelm. It wasn’t until I sat in a therapy room and told my story that I began to find relief. That experience changed my life—and inspired me to walk with others on their own path toward healing. I later earned my Master of Science in Marital and Family Therapy from Fuller School of Psychology and completed advanced training in Narrative Focused Trauma Care through The Allender Center.

What I Offer

I work with adults navigating the lasting impact of trauma, abuse, spiritual harm, and mental health challenges like anxiety, depression, and shame. My approach integrates narrative therapy, somatic awareness, and attachment-based care—supporting your healing not just emotionally, but physically and relationally, too.

Whether you’re looking for consistent weekly therapy or a focused intensive experience, I offer a grounded, relational space where your story can unfold safely and at your own pace. Together, we’ll work toward reclaiming your sense of self, building emotional resilience, and stepping into a more embodied and connected life.

My Experience

I bring a diverse clinical background to my trauma therapy work, with experience supporting individuals through a wide range of psychological, medical, spiritual, academic, and relational challenges. My approach is deeply shaped by the advanced training I received in narrative-focused trauma care through The Allender Center, where I learned to engage trauma through the lens of story work. I’ve worked in settings ranging from school counseling and private practice to psychiatric hospitals, supporting children, adolescents, adults, couples, and older adults navigating complex mental health concerns.

As an inclusive and trauma-informed therapist, I’m committed to creating a safe space for individuals from marginalized communities. I continue to engage in ongoing education around diversity, equity, and inclusion, and strive to bring cultural humility into every session.
